What is Graphic Design???

My artistic view of this piece was showing what social medias I use and how it affects society. Instead of logos I choose apps (excluding the apple logo) and a mural-like creature to show how we are so dependent on these apps and logos and how graphic design is such a large part of our lives.

I choose to keep my drawing simple, keeping in mind the meaning of the colors in the creature; Dark purples, greens, and blacks and whites. The darks represent the bad parts of these apps while the lights represent how important they are to Graphic artists.

The apps I used was Youtube (video sharing), Skype (messaging and calling people), Instagram (Photo sharing), Apple (product company), and Amino (sharing art and ideas on topics). These apps are ones i use everyday that allow me to connect outside of my state.

web design reflection

the process was watching videos and using dream weaver to make a website. I used my time in class to get fairly close to the end but couldn't make it to the very end. Some challenges I faced was my picture wouldn't align where I needed it to. I learned that website making is hard. My opinion on web design is kind of boring. I don't think i would go into web design.

Quater 2 reflection

I think my area of strength could possibly be story boarding. I could probably improve on using the axis line to my advantage. I loved working with my friends in video. I wish I could change it so we could have worked in  group of our choosing more. I didn't like the first project where we had to do something on our own. Next semester i hope to work more on posting blogs

Sequencing

I thought this was the chase scene so we did a chase scene, apparently it was Sequencing and not a chase scene.




So what I could have done better was added music and edited my shots so it looked like she was running continuously. I also would have removed an accidental speaking line I said. What I think I did well with was designing the story board and carrying the camera up the stairs without falling.

6 shot system

In E-Comm we learned about the 6 shot system and the rule of thirds. We applied the skills we learned to create a video



My video was made with objects instead of real people; I still used the shots and made the video. I made mine look bad on purpose due to the lack of an actual marshmallow. What I wish I had done was to write "marshmallow" on the marshmallow since you wouldn't know it was a marshmallow otherwise.

6 Video Shots

In Movies and TV shows there are 6 types of camera angles. Each shot lasts from 2-3 seconds. The 6 types of shots are:

Closeup

Closeups are used to show something in detail

Extreme Closeup

Extreme Closeups are used for more detail than a closeup

Extreme Wideshot

Extreme wideshots are used to show setting like where people are thats larger than normal wideshot

Over the shoulder

Allows the viewer to see whats happening from the shoulder's point of view

Medium shot

Medium shots are ideal for two characters talking as its a middle ground between widest and closeup.

Wideshot

Wide shots are used to show a large area of the scene but not as large as extreme wideshots

Social Media

We read an article on Social Medias and how employers can find social medias of students and how it effects whether you could get hired or not. You have to be careful of what you post online, since yours future employers could see it. Remember that time on twitter when you called someone out? Your employers saw it. The time when you posted something hurtful towards someone? Employers can see it. They know your social medias and they want to see what kind of person you are just based on your social media. It doesn't matter your GPA or test scores; if you post bad things online they will decline you. A way to avoid this is to think about what you type and/or send over social medias. You should have a professional email that is not connected to any social medias to help.
I'm personally not on as much social media as normal people my age, so I don't post anything that I regret.
